Tea Party at the Sainte Coeur de Marie Residential Care Home

February 8, 2012

In the strong belief that young active citizens can take collective action towards social responsibility, JCI Curepipe is organising its first Community Development Event of this year on Sunday 12th February 2012 as from 14:30 to 16:00.

The aim of the event themed ‘A Tea Party at the Sainte Coeur de Marie Residential Care Home (Curepipe)‘ is to spend quality time around a cup of tea with the elderly residents of the home with a view to brighten their day by interacting with them and having refreshments together. A distribution of gift packs to the residents has also been planned.

Elderly people are very important in our modern society; they are mostly the reason for our existence; they are the backbone of our society. Elderly people have spent a lot of time in the world and have seen things and know things that the younger generation have not witnessed or do not understand. They have shown us and continue to show us what can be done and exactly how it is done. As rightly stated by Andy Rooney “The best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly person.”

In that essence, the Project Director, Vida Ramkoosalsing, and her team have the pleasure to invite you to spend some time and bring a smile in the lives of these elderly persons. The Project Director also makes a humble appeal to all those who wish to help with any kind of contribution to the residents of the home to please contact her on the 797 1063 before Friday 10th February 2012.

We are looking forward to see you all there on Sunday 12th February 2012 to create positive change together.
