Pakistan has recently been severely hit by the massive floods that has left thousands homeless. Some children have even been orphaned, leaving the country in a terrible state of desolation…
Our JCI Values and the brotherhood that we share with our Pakistani friends has woken up an urge to help and take action. JCI International has therefore created “JCI Operation Hope” to help raise funds to rebuild pakistan and to help those in need get back up on their feet.
The devastating effect has left an estimated 6 million people, according to CNN reports. An aid worker working in one of the refugee camps in Pakistan relates of this woman who came begging to her with tears in her eyes: “We need food, we need food,” she cried, her face wrinkled with the hard years of poverty. “We haven’t eaten today. We walked a long, long way. No men are with us. We are all widows. For God’s sake, give us something.”

In Mauritius, our fellow friends from JCI City-Plus are also reaching out for relief in pakistan by collecting dry foodstuffs (tinned food/ milk powder/ flour/ biscuits) and beverages (water/ juice) that will be sent via container to Karachi. This appeal is being done with the approval of the High Commisioner of Pakistan in Mauritius. Be generous and give your donations…
