Dear [[JCI Curepipe]] [[Members]], [[Senators]] and [[Aspiring Members]],
I would like to send all of you my warmest greetings for the New Year.
I thank you for your wonderful support and for the trust you are bestowing in me and the team for 2010.
We have much to be proud of the 25 years that have passed. Any success, however, is the result not of any one person’s efforts, but of those of many people working together, towards a common vision.
My dear friends, we cannot rest on our achievements. We have to find ways to capitalize on them to become stronger than ever before. I am sure that the 2010 team comprises of a unique breed of leader, who does not fear challenges but uses them to motivate himself and others.
Brotherhood is the core value of [[JCI Curepipe]]. The bonding which exists among [[JCI Curepipe]] members is unique. It has been passed on by past members and it is important that we maintain that strong bond. That friendship has been built up not only during our gatherings or our parties but it is also the support to each other. [[JCI Curepipe]] members always show their support not just by words but also by their ACTION. Because we are one team! In 2010, we will do our best to develop closer relationships with our friends, partners and other chapters of [[JCI Mauritius]]. Our value, “Brotherhood”, will always be there and let’s hand in hand fight against any obstacle till the last minute.
We will be facing many challenges during the year. I am confident that if you are all beside me, we can overcome all the obstacles and come out better persons.I believe, one of the biggest challenges will be membership growth and retention. I appeal to everyone to build it as a vision to help [[JCI Curepipe]] be more visible to the public. The slogan of our [[World President]] [[Roland Kwemain]] is“ EACH ONE REACH ONE”. I do not believe that it is a difficult task for each of us to identify one eligible young professional , talk to him about [[JCI]] , enrol him as our member and more importantly act as his mentor and help him grow in our organization locally, nationally and even internationally. Let us start our journey in the year 2010 with that determination. You should keep yourself motivated , not only during the beginning of the year, but through out the year to achieve this goal.
Mark Twain said “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you did not do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbour, catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover”
Let us continue to provide opportunities for young people to develop their leadership skills, social responsibility and entrepreneurship for the betterment of all as we expect nothing less for a great year ahead of us. I will do my best to live up to your expectations.
