Meet the 2013 JCI International Office Candidates

This year’s JCI Candidates exemplify the motivation, commitment to action and diversity that JCI members encompass in more than 5,000 communities around the world. 

At the 2012 JCI World Congress in Taipei, Taiwan, Chief Delegates and National Presidents from JCI member nations across the world will gather to elect the leaders of the organization for 2013. Your chosen representatives will select from the following list of candidates, including the 2013 JCI Vice Presidents, Executive Vice Presidents and the 2013 JCI President.

Read on for the candidates’ bios and hear about their plans for the future of JCI in person at the 2013 Vice President Candidates Presentation and Caucus on Monday, November 19 and the 2013 Executive Vice President and President Presentation and Caucus on Tuesday, November 20.

 The candidates appear in alphabetical order by last name and are sorted by the position for which they applied.

 

For the Office of JCI President

One candidate will be elected 2013 JCI President.

Candidate : Chiara Lucia Milani 

National Organization : JCI Italy

 Born April 24, 1976, in Castellanza (Varese), Italy, Chiara Lucia Milani holds a national professional certificate in journalism and works as Vice Director of the News at Rete55 TV. She resides in Busto Arsizio, Varese, Italy, with her husband Rudy.

 Milani joined JCI Varese in 2000. She became Local Secretary General in 2004 and National President in 2009.

 At the international level, Milani served as 2010 JCI Vice President and 2012 JCI Executive Vice President for the Americas. She has attended ten JCI Area Conferences and seven JCI World Congresses, four JCI Global Partnership Summits and the JCI Academy. She has been honored as JCI Senator No. 68122. She is a JCI Foundation Phil Pugsley donor. She speaks English and Italian and she has basic knowledge of Spanish, French and German.

 

For the Office of JCI Executive Vice President
Four candidates will be elected to serve as 2013 JCI Executive Vice Presidents, one each assigned to Africa and the Middle East, Asia and the Pacific, the Americas and Europe. 

Candidate: Shine Bhaskaran
National Organization: JCI India

Born April 2, 1976, in Nattika, Thrissur District Kerala, India. Shine Bhaskaran holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce, a law degree and also holds a diploma in hotel management. He is the sole proprietor of a three-star hotel. He resides in Nattika, Kerala, India with his wife Dhannya and their daughters Krishna and Karishma.

 Bhaskaran joined JCI Triprayar in 1999. He became Local President in 2001, Zone President in 2005 and National Executive Vice President in 2009. 

 At the international level, Bhaskaran served as 2010 JCI UN Affairs Commissioner for Asia and the Pacific, 2011 JCI Vice President and 2012 JCI Chief Executive Assistant to the President. He has attended seven JCI Area Conferences, six JCI World Congresses and three JCI Global Partnership Summits. He has been honored as JCI Senator No. 68189. He speaks English.

 

Candidate: Ivette Cáceres

National Organization: JCI Dominican Republic

 Born December 11, 1975, in Santiago, Dominican Republic, Ivette Cáceres holds two master’s degrees in human resources and university management and works as Continuing Education Director of Universidad Iberoamericana. She resides in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

 Cáceres joined JCI Santiago in 1997. She became Local President in 2000, National Executive Vice president in 2005 and National President in 2007.

 At the international level, Cáceres served as JCI Vice President in 2008. She has attended nine JCI Area Conferences and seven JCI World Congresses. She has been honored as JCI Senator No. 67967. She speaks English and Spanish.

 

Candidate: Rania Haddad

National Organization: JCI Lebanon

 Born January 2, 1978, in Beirut, Lebanon, Rania Haddad holds a master’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s degree in computer and communications engineering. She works in the field of web development. She resides in Beirut, Lebanon, with her family.

 Haddad joined JCI Beirut in 2005. She became National President in 2009.

 At the international level, Haddad served as JCI North Africa and Middle East Development Councilor in 2010, JCI Vice President in 2011 and JCI UN Affairs Commissioner for Africa and the Middle East in 2012. She has attended five JCI Area Conferences and seven JCI World Congresses. She has been honored as JCI Senator No. 69530. She speaks English and Arabic.

 

Candidate: Alexis Kouassi
National Organization: JCI Côte d’Ivoire

 Born January 9, 1975 in Hire, Cote d’Ivoire, Kouakou Alexis Kouassi holds an engineering degree in mechanics and electricity and works as Managing Director of Ivorinne Electricity Company. He resides in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, with his wife Denise, and their children Christ-Ivan and Loik-aurel. 

Kouassi joined JCI Gagnoa in 2001. He became Local President in 2003 and JCI Cote d’Ivoire National President in 2007.

At the international level, Kouassi served as 2011 JCI Vice President. He has attended six JCI Area Conferences and six JCI World Congresses. He has been honored as JCI Senator No. 66940. He speaks French and English.

 

Candidate: Lesley Young
National Organization: JCI United Kingdom

 Born December 22, 1973, in Londonderry, Northern Ireland, UK, Lesley Young holds a master’s degree in health care leadership and management and works in senior management for the National Health Service in England. She lives in London with her partner Myles.

 Young joined JCI Belfast in 2004. She held various leadership roles and was Deputy Regional Group Chairman of JCI Northern Ireland in 2007. Young moved to London in 2008 and served as 2010 JCI United Kingdom National President.

 At the international level, Young served as 2011 JCI Vice President and 2012 JCI UN Affairs Commissioner. She has attended six JCI Area Conferences and four JCI World Congresses. Young was honored as JCI Senator No. 69906. She speaks English and some French.

 

For the Office of JCI Vice President
Seventeen 2013 JCI Vice Presidents will be elected, four assigned to Africa and the Middle East, four assigned to Asia and the Pacific, four assigned to the Americas and five assigned to Europe. 

 Candidate: Abraham Nana Kow Acquaye

National Organization: JCI Ghana

 Born May 9, 1976, in Accra, Ghana, Acquaye holds a degree in human resource management and works as a Concept Creator for an advertising company. He resides in Accra, Ghana. 

 Acquaye joined JCI Dansoman in 2006. He became Local Vice President in 2008, National Vice President in 2009, Executive Vice President in 2010 and National President in 2011. 

 At the international level, Acquaye served as 2012 JCI Executive Assistant to the President for Africa and Middle East. He has attended four JCI Area Conferences and five JCI World Congresses. He has been honored as JCI Senator No. 70929. He speaks English.

 

Candidate: Mahamoud Ali Ahmed

National Organization: JCI Comoros

 Born April 1, 1977, in Moroni, Ngazidja, Comoros, Mahamoud Ali Ahmed holds a master’s degree in information and communication. He works as General Manager of a communications agency. He resides in Moroni, Comoros, with his wife Moufida and their son Kalel.

 Ali Ahmed joined JCI Moroni in 2005. He became Local President in 2006, National Secretary General in 2007 and National President in 2008.

 At the international level, he has attended three JCI Area Conferences and one JCI World Congress. He speaks French and English.

 

Candidate: Djibrila Ali Zourkaleini 

National Organization: JCI Niger

 Born May 31, 1975, in Niamey, Niger, Djibrila Ali Zourkaleini holds a degree in architecture and urban planning and a master’s degree in management and cultural heritage. He works as general manager of a communications agency. He resides in Niamey, Niger, with his wife Salamatou and their son Abdoulkarim.

 Ali Zourkaleini joined JCI Niger in 2004. He became Local President in 2009, Executive Vice President in 2010, Deputy National President in 2011 and National President in 2012.

 At the international level, he has attended four JCI Area Conferences and one JCI World Congress. He has been honored as JCI Senator No. 71376. He speaks French and some English.

 

Candidate: Kazutaka Amaki

National Organization: JCI Japan

 Born in Japan, on October 15, 1974, Mr. Kazutaka Amaki is a graduate of Canadian International College and President of Amaki Oil Inc., based in Aichi, Japan. Amaki also resides in Aichi.

 Amaki joined JCI Handa in 2003 and became Local President in 2009. He served as a 2010-2011 Development Officer in the JCI Asia Pacific Development Council and he is currently serving as Chairperson of the JCI Affairs Commission of JCI Japan.

 At the international level, he has attended five JCI Area Conferences and four JCI World Congresses. Amaki has also been honored as JCI Senator No. 71535 and he speaks Japanese and English.

 

Candidate: SangWoo Bae

National Organization: JCI Korea

 Born March 18, 1977 in Seoul, South Korea, SangWoo Bae holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and works as Managing Director of a distribution company. He resides in Seoul, South Korea.

 Bae joined JCI Seoul in 2002. He became Local Executive Vice President in 2010, and National Vice President in 2012.

 At the international level, SangWoo Bae served as Chairman of the 2006 JCI World Congress Organizing Committee. He has attended eight JCI Area Conferences and four JCI World Congresses. He has been honored as JCI Senator No. 67272. He speaks English and Korean. 

 

Candidate: François Bégin 

National Organization: JCI Canada

 Born October 29, 1981 in Quebec, Canada, François Bégin works as a mortgage broker at TD Canada Trust. He resides in Quebec, Canada with his wife Stéphanie and their children Léo and Émile.

 Bégin joined JCI Quebec in 2005. He became Local Executive Vice President in 2011 and National President in 2012. 

 At the international level, Bégin has attended three JCI World Congresses. He speaks French and English. 

 

Candidate: Asmaa Benslimane

National Organization: JCI Morocco

 Born November 15, 1976, in Casablanca, Morocco, Asmaa Benslimane holds a master’s degree in purchasing and global logistics and a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting and works as Head of the Invoicing Division at Casablanca Port. She resides in Casablanca, Morocco.

 Asmaa joined JCI Casablanca in 2007. She became Community Vice – President in 2009, National President in 2011, and 2012 JCI Africa and the Middle East Conference Organizing Committee Director for Casablana, Morocco.

 At the international level, Asmaa has attended two JCI Area Conferences and two JCI World Congresses. She has been honored as JCI Senator No. 70543. She speaks Arabic, French and English.

 

Candidate: Sean Chang

National Organization: JCI Taiwan

Born August 31, 1977, in Pingtung, Taiwan, Republic of China, Sean Chang completed his bachelor’s degree in shipping and transportation management and works as Speaker of Chang Tan District in Keelung city. He resides in Keelung, Taiwan, with his wife Pao-Chi, and their daughters Chih-Chia and Yun-Chia.

 Chang joined JCI Capital Harbor in 2002. He became Local President in 2008, and National President in 2012. 

 At the international level, Chang has attended seven JCI Area Conferences and three JCI World Congresses. He speaks English and Japanese. 

 

Candidate: Bernard Faustino Dy

National Organization: JCI Philippines

Born May 30,1979, in Manila, Philippines, Bernard Faustino Dy holds a bachelor’s degree in international business and a Doctor of Philosophy in organization development. He works as CEO of Isabela Hotel and Resort and is the Vice President of the University of Perpetual Help System in Isabela. He resides both in Manila and Cauayan City, Isabela. 

 Dy joined JCI in 2003 where he became the Charter President of JCI Cauayan Bamboo until 2005, Regional Vice President of Cagayan Valley in 2006, Area Vice President in 2008, National Executive Vice President in 2010 and JCI Philippines National President in 2011.  

 At the international level, Dy has attended three JCI Area Conferences and two JCI World Congresses. He has been honored as JCI Senator No. 67743. He speaks English and Filipino.

 

Candidate: Reynaldo Ekónomo

National Organization: JCI Honduras

 Born June 1, 1975 in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, Reynaldo Ekónomo holds a degree in law and social sciences and also holds diplomas in psychology and political management. He currently serves as the Director and Owner of Law Offices. He resides in San Pedro Sula, with his wife Scarlen and daughter Nayomi Salen. 

 Ekónomo helped found JCI Zorzales in 1994 and became National President in 2011. 

 At the international level, he has attended three JCI Area Conferences, one JCI Global Partnership Summit and one JCI World Congress. He has been honored as JCI Senator No. 70479. He speaks Spanish and some English. 

 

Candidate: Anna Gril

National Organization: JCI France

 Born June 6, 1979 near Paris, France, Anna Gril holds an engineering diploma in chemistry and a master’s degree in European business. She works as Sales and Marketing Manager for a biotech start-up in Basel, Switzerland. She resides in Saint-Louis, France, with her partner Franck and their daughter Leili-Jordane.

 Anna joined JCI Saint-Louis in 2006. She became Local President in 2009, Federal Secretary General and National Commissioner in 2010, then National Secretary General in 2011.

 At the international level, she has attended two JCI Area Conferences and one JCI World Congress. She speaks French and English.

 

Candidate: Ronnie Llontop

National Organization: JCI Peru

 Born May 13, 1980 in Piura, Peru, Ronnie Llontop is a computer engineer and holds a degree in web technologies and earned international certification from the ITIL Foundation. He works as Executive Project Manager of the IBM International Deals in Peru. He resides in Lima, Peru. 

 Llontop joined JCI Castilla in 2000. He became Local Presidnet in 2001 and National President in 2012. 

 At the international level, he has attended four JCI Area Conferences, one JCI Global Partnership Summit and the 2011 JCI Academy. He has been honored as JCI Senator No. 70269. He speaks Spanish and English. 

 

Candidate: Victor Machín

National Organization: JCI Uruguay

 Born September 16, 1980, in Montevideo, Uruguay, Víctor Machín is a University Accounting and Financial Analyst, and works as Compac LA Financial Controller for Latin America. He is also Partner and Director of Inmove Logistics. He resides in Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay, with his wife Sheila.

 Machín joined JCI Montevideo in 2007. He became JCI Uruguay National President in 2010.

 At the international level, Machín served as 2012 JCI Americas Development Council Commissioner. He has attended five JCI Area Conferences, and three JCI World Congresses. He has been honored as JCI Senator No. 70904. He is a Phil Pugsley donor of the JCI Foundation. He speaks Spanish and intermediate English.

 

Candidate: Àlfred Pitarch Garcia

National Organization: JCI Catalonia

 Born April 17, 1974, in Reus, Catalonia, Àlfred Pitarch Garcia holds a master’s degree in financial management and business control and works as treasurer and administration manager of a manufacturing company. He also operates his own company based on Catalan food and drink. He resides in Reus, Catalonia, with his partner Sol.

 Pitarch Garcia joined JCI Reus in 1992. He became Local President in 2009 and National President in 2010. 

 At the international level, Pitarch Garcia has attended four JCI Area Conferences and five JCI World Congresses. He speaks Catalan, English, Spanish, French and Italian.

 

Candidate: Joanne Rinaldo

National Organization: JCI USA

 Born August 23, 1973, in Buffalo, NY, USA, Joanne Rinaldo holds a master’s degree in business administration and is a product manager and business owner of a renewable energy company. She resides in Palatine, Illinois, USA.

 Rinaldo joined JCI Hoffman Estates in 2004. She became Local President in 2006, and Illinois State President in 2012. 

 At the international level, she has attended one JCI World Congress and one JCI Global Partnership Summit. She speaks English.

 

Candidate: Lilian Graciela Rolón Flecha 

National Organization: JCI Paraguay

 Born July 5, 1975, in Asuncion, Paraguay, Lilian Rolón Flecha holds a degree in architecture and works as a constructions overseer in her own architectural firm, Level Architecture. Rolón Flecha also teaches architecture at the National University of Asunción and the Pacific’s University. She resides in Fernando de la Mora, Paraguay.

 Rolón Flecha joined JCI Paraguay in 2004. She became Local President in 2007 and served as National President in 2011.

 At the international level, Rolón Flecha served as 2012 JCI Americas Development Council Commissioner. She has attended six JCI Area Conferences, one JCI Global Partnership Summit, two JCI World Congresses and six National Conventions of other National Organizations. She has been honored as JCI Senator No. 69238 and is a Phil Pugsley donor of the JCI Foundation. She speaks Spanish, Portuguese and English.

 

Candidate: Franklin Saltos Haon

National Organization: JCI Ecuador

 Born on November 28, 1974 in Guayaquil, Ecuador, Franklin Saltos Haon received a specialization and master’s degree in criminal science and criminology and has served as Attorney General. He lives in Guayaquil, Ecuador with his wife Gina Jacome and his sons Andrew Franklin and Franklin Armondo, and daughters Paula Maythem Emilia and Lucianna.

 Saltos Haon joined JCI Urdesa in 2003. He held several local offices until he became Local President in 2007 and National President in 2010.

 Internationally, he served as JCI Americas Development Committee Commissioner during 2011. He has attended five JCI Area Conferences and one JCI World Congress. He was honored as JCI Senator No. 70071. He speaks Spanish.

 

Candidate: Louise Swanson

National Organization: JCI Scotland

Born August 30, 1975, in Thurso, Scotland, Louise Swanson holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental chemistry and works as a risk manager for a financial services company. She resides in Edinburgh, Scotland. 

 Swanson joined JCI Edinburgh in 2005. She became Local President in 2009 and National President in 2012. 

 She has attended five JCI Area Conferences and one JCI World Congress. She has been honored as JCI Senator No. 70475. She speaks English.

 

Candidate: Maiga Adiaratou Thiam 

National Organization: JCI Mali

 Born March 31, 1973 in Bamako, Mali, Maiga Adiaratou Thiam is a civil engineer. She works as Head of the Regional Habitat Division of Town Planning and Housing in the District of Bamako. She resides in Bamako with her husband Abdourahamane and their two children, Sagaidou and Idrissa. 

 Thaim joined JCI Bamako Espoir in 2000. She became Local President in 2007 and National President in 2012. 

 At the international level, she has attended six JCI Area Conferences and two JCI World Congresses. She has been honored as JCI Senator No. 69307. She speaks French and some English.

 

Candidate: Natalie Viselli 

National Organization: JCI Australia 

 Born September 4, 1984, in Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia, Natalie Viselli holds tertiary qualifications in commerce, law, market research and regional development, and is currently completing her Master of Business Administration. She resides in Canberra, Australia, and works for the Australian Government in its Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy.

 Viselli joined JCI Illawarra in 2007. She became Local President in 2010 and served as National President in 2012.

 At the international level, Viselli has attended four JCI Area Conferences and one JCI World Congress. She speaks English.
